Mounting Diameter (top mount) : 275mm (10-7/8”) (from the subs manafacture site) Do I cut the hole that big or do I leave a half inch for mounting.

cut the hole at that then it should fit perfect

cut the hole that big.
if you are flush mounting you need a hole that big to the interior of the box and a hole the outer diameter on the exterior of it.

by the SECOND one. If you want your grille or basket BENEATH the top of the wood, you need to make the wood double thick (usually)(with screws and woodglue or equivalent) And cut the SAME size hole, but using a router and jig or a HUGE holesaw (if you can find one)... Cut a LARGER hole above the first one.
