standard box adding fiberglass?

i have a standard mdf carpeted box for 2 twelves im thinking about tearing off the carpet then making it fiberglass over top of the mdf would that work? sound good etc, because i want to do that put like 2-3 layers then put body filler on it then paint abd primer it pearl white like my t bird give me some feedback do's and donts?

Yes you can do that, I have seen someones regular sealed box fiberglassed so it was flush in the corner of his car, and it looked like it belonged there! The white paint should be sick, very original too.

ya i think i may do it, ill only need 2-3 layers if that, and does it matter what kind of "fleece" i use? any kind of fabric would work?

all your doing is refinishing the box you shouldn't need fleece you just wanna smooth it out right if that's the case just paint on some resine and bondo it and sand till smooth then paint it

I think what he was trying to say though, is that if you are just going to use the glass as a means of making it look better (not changing it's shape at all), then you need not use any actual fiberglass at all. You could get away with just laying down a few layers of resin, and smooth that out wil bondo or body filler. Then just sand and paint.

just mix that resin to the specs on the can, paint it on, put some body filler down, make sure its all smoothe and hard, then paint.

dont buy fiberglass unless you are going to mold it into the corner or physically change the shape of the box.

so if i did this what should i do i have the box, i bought the fiberglass resin/catylyst, then do i even need cloth to put around the box? or just straight paint the resin on the box then put 2 or 3 coats on, then sand then il get my brother to put primer filler and paint it pearl white, would that be right for the fiberglass part i would need that inorder for it to be able to be painted ?

you don't need fiberglass cloth/mat !

just spread a few coats of fiberglass resin, sand it down, bondo it, prime it, and paint it... there are a few extra sand it steps in between because you want it to be smoother than a baby's bottom. that is all i have done while putting a glassed type fininsh on a box. but you don't need any mat... just the resin.
