    an someone post port area equation for figuring port area

    i don't realy like using those calculators and have no trouble doing the math but i can't seem to find the quation needed to figure min port area

    Where Av is the cross-sectional area of the port (in square inches),
    Lv
    is the length of the port (in inches)
    and Vb is the enlcosure's net volume (in cubic inches).

    no not fig the area i mean using the xmax and tuning freqto determine the min port area needed

    I generally stick to 12-15 in^2 per cubic foot of enclosure...

    ahh ok that makes since so a 4 cube box would need around any between 40 in^2 and 60 in^2 using 12 and 15 respectively

    i am REALY enjoying learning about this box stuff i like science and math could be why i am a pre med student and enjoy the figuring... although i wish i spell worth a crap or type for that matter
