Opinions on ported box

I have 2 Phoenix Gold Ti15s and I'd like to build a ported box for them. The subs have an EBP of 48. I've been reading and most of what I've heard says that an EBP of less than 50 is best suited for a sealed enclosure. Am I wasting my time building a ported box?

i dunno but my 12s sound ****ed good ported. they have a really hard chest sucking pressure to them ... tuned ~25hz
