Where to place box firing up, help me decide!

Well I built a ported box for my magnum d2 and I am making it fire up. Question is where to place it. I have an explorer and I cant decide whether to place it all the way toward the back of the truck or toward the front more against the back seat. Which would sound louder and how much of a difference would it make? Thanks guys

just try different ways whatever sounds best to you should be your choice

I found that in my old Cherokee it sounded best having the sub firing towards the rear hatch/window butted up against the back set. Granted this was in a Cherokee which is similar, but you will just have to play with yours and see what you think sounds best.

From the front seat you may not hear a big difference from the 2 places you want to put it. Bass takes about 4 feet for the sound waves to totally open up and sound the best. Any closer and it sounds a little weak, and any futher it starts to loose its punch.

To be honest I would put it where it makes you life easier. With this I mean, if you put it at the hatch back, you will have to move it all the time to get things in and out of the trunk area. If you put it right behind the seat it will allow you to get things in the trunk. so my choice is near the back seats.
