Hey guys, Im new to this site but i have been an audio enthusiast for a while. I have a few questions u guys might be able to answer.
I have an audiobahn A2200HCQ amp
and an Audiobahn immortal sub AWISD12 (12" DVC)
12" 2000 Watts RMS
Proprietary Tall Excursion foam surround: allows for maximum excursion and maximum cone surface area
Ultra light 2-layer Carbon Fiber, Kevlar Cone with aluminum dustcap
Triple Stack Magnet
Chrome plated 3-dimensional cast Aluminum Basket
25mm Top Plate for Increased Efficiency
Dual Voice coil wound on black anodized aluminum former
Frequency Response: 23Hz - 700Hz
Voice Coil: 3" Dual 2 Ohms
Mounting Depth: 7 5/8"
Hole Cutout: 11 1/4""
What is the best way to wire the sub to the amp?
My next question is that I have a Mitsubishi Lancer and the trunk space is pretty nice, but the opening to the trunk REALLY *****... it's too small. If i try to make a box that fits snugly inside it probably wont fit in the openings. I also have fold down rear seats but the opening there is pretty small as well. What's the best way to build an enclosure back there? Fiberglass?
What sounds louder a box made of fiberglass or of MDF?
If i do go about making a ported box out of MDF, what should I tune the port frequency to to achieve the hardest hitting bass. Here are audiobahn's specs for the sub...
Air Space (Cu. Ft.) 3.7
Port Size (Inches) (2) 4 x 10.5
Port Vel. (%) 11.68
-3dB (Hz) 30
Tune Freq. (Hz) 35
Sub Disp. (Cu. Ft.) 0.25
Port Disp.(Cu. Ft.) 0.144
Total Vol. (Cu. Ft.) 4
The box i want to build will have a slot port, not a square port, so that's where I need help. Thanks in advance for all your insights
Oh, and I KNOW Audiobahn *****... but im a poor college student so please dont hate on me.
