if i made a truck box with these dimensions would an alpine type r 12" fit
height............14"
top depth.......6"
bottom depth..10"
width.............21"
i am really concerned about the depth....could any1 run this trhu a box program for me.i dont have any experience with box programs and i dont know if it could tell me the above info if it would fit but if someone could find out for me thanx.....

that's .917 what year truck is it i take it an s10
14'' h is good or is it 13.5 not sure i'm not at my truck keep the top below that xtra plate up top mine a 2000 yours maybe different
6'' w for the top seems about 2'' to big your gonna lose clicks on the seat go 4'' instead
21'' w you can get 50'' if you get rid of the jack and stand
10'' for the bottom w isn't bad but again you my lose clicks

if you have bucket seat like i do mount the 12 in the center with a grill (so you don't tear up the surround)
i'm not sure of the mounting depths or volume need i don't know the speakers

The Type-R 12 is 7" deep (top mount) ...

If you do the calculations, it's 8" deep at 7" high ... And that doesn't even include the wood ... Then you take into account the diameter of the motor and it's definitely a no-go ...

thats exactly what i figured but the magnet does have an angle on it so it mite jus maybe mite fit. since the box is at an angle it puts the sub at an angle so the magnets angle ( form the center of it to the outer edge) could go starit with the back wall of the box...

I think earthquake makes a shallow sub.. audiobahn makes some pretty shallow ones too, although if you have your heart set on a type-r, i think you're screwed unless you go 10.

it's from earthquake, it's called an SWS, and they have a 3 inch mounting depth for the 12.. less for 10 and 8. It's 400 bucks (MSRP) for the 12. They have single 4 ohm voice coils with 300w RMS handling/600 peak and an 89 sensitivity. Frequency responce is 20hz to 1.5khz, 2 inch excursion. Thank you Car Audio Directory Guide...

Type Rs dont have Huge magnets on them. Probably 5 in mounting depth tops.
