Will more hinder performance?

Going to get a killer deal on 2 JL 10W7s. Was planning to tune to 35Hz. Also planning 60 sq/in of port. Using WINisd, I will keep the port length in check to tune to 35Hz. Will a big surface area hurt the way it sound or how deep it can go?

Tuning a little high for BIG spl and decent SQ. Might even do a port plug.

i think i've heard that until you get to huge amounts of port area it will only help, like more than the cone area of your subs
