The best choice depends on your listening preferences.

Do you:
-Want loud...and that's it
-Want clean with reduced output

For loud go with ported at 38 or 40 Hz with a subsonic filter set below that.
For clean, ported at 28Hz or even sealed.

How do I go about figuring out what that is? Say I do build a 3cuft box, how do I create the **HZ

Man, we all start somewhere. That stands for Hertz, a measure of frequency.

When you build a ported box, the dimensions of the port affect that "tuning freq." If you use 4" pvc in a box, making it longer will lower the tuning freq. and making it shorter will raise the freq.
