Ported box size for mtx thunder tr5512 12" sub?

My friend has a 12" mtx tr5512 subwoofer and he wants a new box, he has a 1989 Honda accord, and a 300rms /600 peak amp which is under powering his sub. What size box you someone recommend. I've never personally owned a mtx sub.

1.75-2.25 cubes is where I would be with it. Tune it around 30-36 based upon preference...

is google down or something? all these noobs act like ppl on here are geniuses and there's a magical size enclosure for each sub. google the **** manual instead of posting a thread and someone else googling the manual.

This is a great idea. However, manufacturer's specs are too small imo a lot of the time. I just threw out where I'd be at with it.

so a manufacturer will recommend an enclosure that not make there product sound near it's best while having an enclosure of reasonable size? that's why it's your opinion. no grant it there are better enclosure configuration once you get to over powering your subs by 3x or more and other factors. the OP is powering a single 12" sub on 300 watts, there is not magical enclosure combination that gonna get this guy into the 140s.
