Never built a box or worked with wood but wanna try something...

I dont really have an option for custom built boxes local to me and know there are several people on here who can build boxes, Double 07 built my current one, but this new project may take someone to build the box while the vehicle is in front of them. Heres basically what i want to do...pics shown below. I want to use two PSi platform 1 12in subs each in a sealed box on both sides of the jeep. Yes sealed...lol...and want them to be between .8-1cu.ft. So if i were to build them myself...what do you guys reccomend? Ive never worked with wood except for chopping it lol. i have access to any tool i need from my step father in law so let me know what you guys think..also if you box builders think it wouldnt be that hard feel free to chime in as well.

bring vehicle and some dancers down here now and I will build it....hurry up wife is out of town!!!!!!!!!.....LMAO............that doesn't look or sound too complicated...go for it......If I can be of any assistance I am here.......

If you werent 7 hours away i would...and i would even bring the beer lol!My main concern is finding the time to do it....so i may just give you every measurement imaginable and have you build it lol

Build it out of cardboard and get the fitmeant you want. Then measure it out and a get a builder or designer to work something up with those dims and done

Most of everyone on here that has built a box started out not knowing what to do... measure, measure, measure then cut... and like Pro Rabbit said use cardboard and do a mock up and go from there...

And get your stepdad to help... making angle cuts takes a bit of experience.

I think this would be a good project to try your hand at fiberglass work!

If you are building a sealed box, thats super easy. You dont need to figure out port measurements, or mess around with cutting port pieces. I say go for it!

Fiber glass mann, that setup in the pics looks like a old Russian tank.

Instead of making two seperate enclosures on each side, you can make just one with two chambers on the floor. Protect the subs with a grille and cover with carpet....and you should be good to go. Yeah...the current boxes do look like tanks. LOL
