Are bandpasses worth the work and hassle???

are band passes able to move more air than a simple ported?
Ive never ran one.... I was gonna rebuild and do 8 15s but I just might go for one... tear out my 4 18s and do 2 in a 6th order and have 2 more on standby as i hear band passes are hard on soft parts...But i don't care i want more air movement! (im currently walled at the c-pillar wonder if thats a problem)

(Ive asked some of my team members but they seem to be against band passes)

every bandpass Ive seen on youtube look brutal

noisy crickets 4th order (my favorite!)

but then i see stuff like this and wonder are band passes worth the trouble...(Ive been watching this audio company for 6 months now the speakers are too pricey for me though)

IMO they are worth it, but it is all in the design. I have had a few bandpasses but never tried to run multiple big subs like it looks you want. I am kinda sealed guy and a good designed BP can certainly be louder over the same range as a sealed box. Its hard to say if it will be louder than ported becasue that depends on the woofer and the design. With that being said, I have heard some stupid loud 4th and 6ths. You can make a BP musical and "louder" or just loud as **** and not musical at all.

I have a 6th order with 6 18's and really like it. But I've built plenty of flat walls and those seem to hit harder. Most 4th/6th orders I've heard move a ton of air but aren't always that muscial on real music. Rap it doesn't matter.

Have you considering doing your 4 18's at the B pillar?
