carpet looks the best.. people who say paint usually can't carpet so they just paint.. I feel paint looks cheap and out of place inside a car..

I stained my first box, made of birch ply. Looked good, but was way too much work, won't do it again most likely. Carpet works fine for me.

    Re: finishing your box

either glass the outside and paint. stain if its birch. but if I dont have glass around or I dont want to glass it I just bondo the seams and paint. paint looks very nice inside of a vehicle, but that also depends on the interior.

    Re: finishing your box

For a trunk style build I like the carpet look to match the interior. SUV's with leather or vinyl seats I would use vinyl, and for a truck I would use a glossy paint.

    Things to look forward to:
    (2) 10" or 12" imperium audio designs subs
set of PHD MF 6.5" comps
Completely seal off and deaden my doors
    aquire a 2k amp
aquire a 2 channel amp for front stage

    Re: finishing your box

Some guy at a comp told me he gained 2db from removing his carpeting.

I use this on about 95% of the boxes I build, $7/can at home depot iirc and it hides imperfections pretty well too.
