Ancient chinese secret!!!!....lol........i use 1/4 mdf and a scroll saw on most of them....i then glue and staple them to enclosure....i think some guys use the high density foam as well......
It's a saw that sits on a stand or table top....its kinda like a jigsaw thats stationary but it has a tiny blade so it makes really tight turns and cuts......i have a porter cable one and LOVE it....one of my favorite tools
o yeah i know what your talking about i have one of those!!!!!! haha sorry i was confused.

well i have a bandsaw. same thing?
would it do it as good? i used it for trim on a deck i built....
Yeah you could probably pull it off with a bandsaw....definitely easier than using a JIGSAW.....lol
Only problem is, if you're doing closed letters, i.e. O or R or P, you would have to cut through it to the inner circle with the band saw, whereas the scroll saw detaches to go inside the circle to cut it out.
how are you covering the box? if in vinyl, you can use some left over dampener(IE dynamat) and a razor
Yep, there are several ways to go with doing logos. Foam, wood, or anything that will raise up the surface will work.
There are differences in each way and each poses it's own pros and cons.
I'd go foam. Easy to work with, and IMO the soft edges look better for stuff like this.
