Digital Designs 9510C with g soft parts and basket

    It will be given 1400 watts at 4 ohms, no that isn't clamped nor with rise. But just curious. I can fit 2.75 cubes underneath my back seat with a 6" aeroport that puts tuning around 37 hertz. (Yes my seat is lifted. The woofers under there now with in a smaller box so I could mount my amps on the floor). Should I;

    A. Build the new box with all the wedges for the seat rails and hump in the floor.

    B. Should I just mount the amps to the floor in a cleaner way and sacrifice the 1/3 seat and build a box there? with quick disconnects and handles to throw in & out for when I need that 5th passenger?

How many cubic feet do these bad boys like and should I tune per DD's specs..... and after I figure out the how much volume they like, what about port area. Is the 6" aero good enough? Stick with the rule of thumb for every cubic foot 16" of port area is adequate?

Just wanting a normal everyday box not a meter queen, just a daily ground pounder.

(Yes I have the big 3, along with a HC600 and solenoid relay and runs of 2/0 to everything

The box that I will build which will be about 2.7 cubes at 37-38 hertz.Digital Designs 9510C with g soft parts and basket-screen-shot-2012-08-31-12.10.53-pm.jpg

The old box that's about 1.5 tuned to 40 with the port area that wouldn't do justice for a 6 and a half. (not telling)

Which raises the question? Should I build a normal box to fit the third seat with it flipped up? no turbulence issues and all that.....

Is 35 hertz a good tune. Also how many cubic feet is best suited for this woofer? I've heard four cubic feet? But what the hell? That's alot for a 10.

35 is alright... Just go by DD specs in their newer stuff since its all pretty close...

My subwoofer is a 9510C.... It's a pretty old motor, (mmats jugg style with the vents on the sides of it and in the middle of the pole piece.)

Re: Digital Designs 9510C with g soft parts and basket

I'm thinking about trying 3.3 cubes after port and woofer displacement and using the 6" aero on it. That would turn out to be a 34 hertz tune.....

I've just seen so many people have these woofers in huge boxes and straight beat. My friends previous box was 3-4 cubes (same woofer) and around a 35 hertz tune.

I rebuilt the wheel and went back to DD's specs and it isn't near as loud. Identical amp, identical truck. Only difference is my truck has the big 3, a HC600, and multiple runs of 2/0.

So, we all agree that 2.0 before port and sub displacement is the way to go. 6" aero good for this ol baby?

This is 2.0 cubes after port and sub displacement, tuned to 40.

I've got three inches to the back of the wall is that enough?... I know I can always add spacers to the aeroport, but I'm going for a clean look.

my theory is 6'' port needs to be 6'' off the wall. 4'' is 4'' etc...pretty simple
