Fiberglass box for 12" w7
I was wondering how much the fiberglass needs to over lap on to speaker baffle in order to be strong.
The baffle that im bolting the sub into isn't much bigger than the sub. So when I stretch the fleece or whatever over the baffle, the fiberglass will only really come to just the edge of the ring. Is that going to be strong enough?
Ive already made this baffle, 1.5" thick, with t-nuts, super strong and dont want to make another. Should I just modify the ring, so its a lil bigger and the fiberglass has more to bite to? Or just chamfer the edge of the ring so the fiberglass gets about 1" of wood to bite.
I would just lay fiberglass over the whole front of the ring, but I want to ensure I have a nice flat mounting surface when Im done.
