Install - Focus with a HAT
Hi guys, I've been reading caraudio forums for some time now, but now I'm doing my own install so decided to register.
Well with all the expenses I have at this moment, the audio install will need to fit limited budget, but I don't want to be too cheap either, what i'm looking for is high audio fidelity and overall sound quality and not "umc... umc.. umc... huuuum bum bum machine".
With that being said, I decided to go for:
Driver - HAT Imagine 6.5
Amp - Pioneer PRS-D800 - tho I don't have it yet
Subwoofer - for now I will use stock sub from SVT Focus which has it's own amp, but considering alter upgrade to Imagine I6SW 6.5" Subwoofer which should fit in my current factory sub enclosure so it would be plug and play swap.
Dedener -Audiotechnix 60mil

Re: Install - Focus with a HAT
So what else.... ?
DEFLECTING BACK WAVE FROM THE DRIVER - And that is where I need some advice and suggestions on best way to achieve it.
I want to achieve nice mid bass, so I already know using egg crate foam won't help enough, and I need something thicker for that range of sound waves.
For now I'm considering to place just behind the driver a combination of the deadener i'm already using with those materials:
Flexible Caulking Cord
QuietBrace
Heavy Duty Weatherstrip Seal
gotta do text imagining :P - that's how I want to put it together, for layers consider lower side to be the door metal side, and upper side to be the one facing speaker:
^^^ Driver ^^^
- Weatherstrip Seal
- QuietBrace
- 60mil deadener
- Caulking Cord
- 60mil deadener
- 60mil deadener
---- door metal ----
With aim to gain a thick, uneven surface with some 'trapped air' , that would break the back wave from driver and clear out the sound.
