There's a notion that subs optimized for ported boxes aren't that great in a 4th, but this has been dispelled. They work just fine. Lol. Although, some say that the suspension is too stiff and a 6th might be better.
I've never done the 18, but I've done a a 4th for a single and a pair of HDC3 10's and it was awesome. Never did try a 6th for them, but should.

That what they the guy told me.... I looked at 6th order designs i found one that looks like my 4th but both sides are ported instead of half sealed and half ported like a normal 4th. Lol so i dont figure i could convert mine into a 6th lol

Lemme see your box. You don't know the specs? And a 32-37hz tune isn't the best tune for a 4th. Who did the box? Generally, they're closer to 50hz. How much port area do you have?
Very stiff suspension is not 4th friendly, but a few have made them work. Talking to audiophil a while back as he had TS specs on an HDC I'm pretty sure he recommended a 2:1 with sealed being twice the size of the ported section. Opposite of most 4th orders.
When I tried mine in a 4th they were fine on low/med power but at full power the subs kinda "popped" and couldn't move with the notes. Like they were being restricted. It was a normal 2:1 ported to sealed 4th.
Now they're in a series tuned 6th order and work much better, gained around 5dB's and it's very musical. Plays pretty flat from 30Hz to 50Hz.

One of my friends built it... Hes pretty good at building boxs... I havnt had a chance to measure the box yet... But it may be the port in it now for the low tune... I would rather it be tuned higher myself. Im gonna be changing it out for aero ports that i have in a diff box. The other box with aeros peaked at 52

Like i said before i kno i got some work ahead ima have a some help from a vet once i get time work on it. The box it self is sturdy double baffled and stuff. The square ports the only thing thrown thrown on it. Thats only a temp because he want to keep his aeros. I have my on aeros when i have time to change it out.... And with eryone aaying this i was jus wunderin.. It pounds right now as is with out it walled.

Dont get fooled by "the other guys".
I tuned my first 4th to 35 and although it hit the lows like crazy my cabin gain was too high for it to flatten out the response right so i had a huge dip from 40-50hz. Bumped it up to 40hz and it's much better, though I'm going to lower it down to 38 for my next box. All depends what you wanna get out of it.
OP one of the members on here did a 6th order for his HDC3 10 and it was flexing stuff left and right. @Buck did the box design so maybe he remembers who it was.
