    Dumb question about enclosures...

Hey guys, I am building fiberglass enclosures for a pair of 6x9's on my Rhino side by side. My question to you is this - Is it a general rule of thumb that a bigger enclosure for 6x9's will produce more bass? If you can, please give suggestions on how much volume i need to get the best sound with decent bass. Thanks for your input!!

what 6x9's are you using, and on how much power?

The woofer in a 6x9 is just like any other woofer. A larger box will decrease the q value which will increase the lower frequency output. You may find that you will lose some higher frequency output (midbass). Alternatively, you can get the t/s parameters and model it in a program to see the gains and losses.

In your case, I don't think there will be too terribly much difference. I just wouldn't make the enclosure really small.

^^very good explanation. You will increase low end efficiency with a bigger box, however you may lose some midbass frequencies that you really don't want to. This is all dependant on the speaker and the amount of power being used, I would say though I guess just a ballpark figure .75 cuft would be decent.

I'm using a set of Punch 1692's on a punch 60. Nothing spectacular but they should do ok.
