    Room required

how much room do you need between the top of a subwoofer and a surface? for instance if you have 1/2" between the top of your subwoofer and the roof of your trunk is that ok or will it damage/ distort the sub?

    Re: Room required

Best to use the length of the driver or a minimum of half the length. So, for a 12, don't go under 6inches to any wall. This allows proper compression for breathing room and minimal loss of output.
