(4) 15" car subwoofer box design?? help? comments??

so i built my first subwoofer box, well i built it on google sketchup 8. i know its a bit big for my first build but, you know what they say, go big or go home =) i was going to post a video of the google sketchup but it wont let me? so ill try to explain all that i can, the box is custom designed to fit in the back of my 2007 dodge caliber. its going to have (4) 15" subs *not completely sure wich ones yet,just used basically generic numbers to design the box, will change the ports a bit when know for sure wich subwoofers i will be getting* the box is 7.9 cubic feet with (3) 4" diameter ports that are 3 inches long. WINisd says i have it tuned to 40hz. soo umm, not sure what else i can tell you guys. just wondering if this sounds alright. comments or suggestions would be great! thanks =)

There's not enough space to properly do four 15's in a Caliber. The box you have planned right now is to small in volume and has way too little port area. A general box for four 15's should be about 14ft^3 after all displacements and have about 150-220in^2 of port area, depending on the overall install. You have 7.9ft^3 and 38in^2 of port.

You are far better off building it the right way and using subs in the optimal enclosure rather then an enclosure that is just far to small.

7.9 would be 1 18 only not two...and 2 15s(that like a small enclosure)...could also get 3 12s in there(maybe).

depending on power and sub and what his overall goals are. you can do 2 18s..

I don't see that. Not for a daily enclosure would just be a waste I could make a couple 8's louder for daily then 2 18s would get in that small of a box haha.

I would tune it lower, maybe around 32-35. And put a new baffle on the front, and cut it for 2 15s. If you get some quality subs and a good amp, should pound pretty hard.

do you guys think that i could just make it a sealed box? do you think that would sound better then if i changed it around to (2) 15s or something along those lines?

in all honesty, my goal is just to blow my friends (2) 15s out of the water. hes got a sealed box and hes running i think about 1000 watts. but it sounds really good. all im looking to do is to get the absolute most bass out of this small area. what do you guys would think be best to do?

MOST bass is all you want? 2 15s ported.. on 4kw should do a number lol

ive got (2) 12" kickers in a sealed box right now. running with a 1000 watt kicker amp. its good for that everyday music kind of bass, but not that OVER THE TOP bass that im looking for haha

subs up port back.. unless that 7.9 takes up the entirety of the back space..
