drill a hole that's just big enough for the wire, shove the wire thru and caulk around it. terminal cups are also a nice cosmetic touch and allow for ease of wiring. you can get them from your local audio store for less than $5, and they only require a holesaw, a drill and 4 screws to mount.

terminal cups vs drilling a hole, and running naked wires out to amp? i'd take terminal cups anyday. i personally use bi-pin connectors.
