    tuning and two pioneer 12's

I plan on using two Pioneer TS-W308D2
I tend to be someone who values sound quality over so I was thinking about going with a sealed box with 25hz tuning but how much "loudness" am I going to lose over say a ported box at 35hz, or how much sound quality am I going to lose from say the 35hz ported to the 25hz sealed, I know it's hard to put an actual value on it but any help would be really appreciated. If I do go with sealed how much of a difference would 20hz be from 28hz in terms of sound quality and loudness? It seems like I see the vast majority of people using ported setups so it makes me wonder how much quality you actually lose.

I listen to everything from rap to techno to rock so it needs to really work for everything, but I listen to rap and techno the most.

You can't tune a sealed box. You can change the response by varying the size...bigger box will have more low end but won't handle power as well. Smaller box will peak higher and handle power better. A ported box will have a lot more output and for SQ you would typically tune between 28-35 hz but it depends on the vehicle and subs.

A fraction of a second with a Google search yielded this.

So to start a thread simply to state that clipping does not hurt speakers is, again, a half-truth at best.

Re: tuning and two pioneer 12's

I feel dumb for not figuring out you can not tune a sealed box, no port no way to tune.
I used the search function and read through the stickies about port vs sealed but nowhere does it seem to say how much sound you lose or gain or how much quality you lose or gain with one or the other, all I see is that you do lose or gain sound and that you do lose or gain quality, but I want to know how much. I know thats hard to put a number on.
