i have a 2005 trailblazer and currently clif designs 4800 i would like to get another 1 but i just spent to much money getting my atomic 3000.1 back from atomic. so now i only got around 5k i want to give this guy a pretty good run for his money but i cant decide how to build the box any help would be greatful

That means your cabin gain should be 48-50 Hz if you stay in the trunk.

For an APX 10, I'd try around 1.5 cf, and tune around 45 Hz, with 40-60 sq in of port area. There are differing opinions on what works best, but it's one of the 3 configurations:
subs & port back
subs up, port back
subs & port up

Good luck at the comp! Single 10 with 5kw should do OK. Tune it up properly, and I'd bet you could hit mid to upper 140's

Yeah... I didn't check the huge wattage people are using for these... you're underpowering it... so a bigger box is better.

Not sure the optimal size, but you want it to make the 5000w cause nearly full excursion.

I was just suggesting an "off my head" number earlier. My next "off my head number" is 2.5!

I ran a 10" with triple spider pack in ~2.7cf daily, but I only had 1200w to her lol

I just read Atomic's enclosure design guide. It's in their Downloads section.

APX12 = 4 cf, and APX15 = 6 cf... the 10's not listed, but I imagine it's between 2.5-3.0 cf.

They also are all tuned to ~60-62 Hz for peak SPL... but you'd want to verify the best tuning yourself.

Also, they recommend 5000w for SPL on the design guide.
