Aq HDC3 18 box

I just got mine in the mail . I was curious as to what size box I should put it in..i was thinkin something around 5cuft tuned to 36 hz. Its going in an extended cab s10 (tight fit i know) .I went to AQ(nothing pertaining to 18) and also searched and majority of threads relate to 15's. Here's pic

How much room do you have to work with? Will you be using a slot port or aeroport? If you have enough room, I'd do 6-7ft^3 tuned to 35-37hz.

dj recommends 6cubes at 38hz with 96" of port area.

6.5 to seven cubes tuned to 36 hz would be best for it in my opinion!

I think you'd be really happy with a 6.5ft^3 box with a couple of 15" long 6" aeroports, which would give you a tune between 35-36hz.

Depends on the power, but id say as big as possible if your thinkin 5 cubes, at least 6.

how much power and what style of music? You can go down to 5.25cubes if you have a lot of power. Tune to 35Hz if you mostly play C&S stuff.

Otherwise I 2nd what DJ recommended for a good all around daily box...

although i have mine in a 5 cube box tuned to 41...seems to do well...and new box i designed will be 4.08 cubes tuned to 38 & 45 with interchangable aero ports.

iirc when using aero ports there isnt a need to use the 16 sq in of port area per cube rule.

Thanks for the help. Right now i will be using a hifonics bxi 1200 watt until i get something around the 1600/1900 range . Forgot to mention i only have copper coils. I mainly listen to rap, R*B, and 90s grunge lol

I'd do around 6cubes net @ 36-38Hz. 2 6" aero's would be fine...

...i planned on running this setup in my single cab for a lil while.(passenger seat out of course)
