is there any pros and cons to upfireing subs? im trying to come up with a new sub box design and i have more room if i were to have the subs up fire.

Subs up tends to be a good starting point with SUV's. If you really want to tune it well you can try more firing positions.

ive had several boxes in my trunk and rear firing sounds the best.

ive had subs up port back, subs back port back and subs and ports firing into the cabin. Forward firing is loudest but rear sounds the best and the lows hit a little harder.

So, sub up port back? My box is going to be about 3 feet away from my rear hatch.

depends if you can do both back do it. I have a 18" and have to do sub up port back still slams. Had to do it cuz i didnt have the room to do both back

Whats so wrong with having it the way I do? A lot of people told me it was best to have them facing forward and port firing to the back of the drivers seat..

EDIT: and plus..it doesnt rattle my trunk as bad.

My car is kinda like a hatch. Sub up port forward has been best for me so far. Sub forward port forward isn't as loud and sub and port back just rattles way too much. The only way to know is try and find out yourself.
