Once I glue the carpet to the box is it going to fray or start to unravel when I cut the speaker holes out? I'm using the standard charcoal color speaker box carpet. Also, rotozip or jigsaw?

Use 3M General Purpose spray adhesive (not the heavy duty stuff). It won't come unraveled, trust me.
I cut the holes with a router and trim the carpet with a sharp knife. Jigsaw is my second choice.
