Is 37-40 hz tuned to high for daily driving?

Im currently building a new box and the cu ft so far is a total of 3.36 cu ft and im gonna port it. My question is, would tuning it to 37-40 hz be tuned too high for daily driving? Thanx for any help.

really depends on what kind of music you listen to. It should be ok, as long as your subsonic filter is set properly. Why do you have to tune it that high?

Becuase otherwise I cant make it ported, dont have the room. Im only running 12's and I only listen to rap. I can tune it lower but I would have to make the port face somewhere else but I would really rather not do that. I would have to put the port on top of the box instead of the front in between the subs.

Re: Is 37-40 hz tuned to high for daily driving?

Ok here it is, I can possibly tune it to 34-35 hz and still be able to keep the port in between the subs. Im not sure what would be a good number to tune to for daily driving. Can you guys help me out. Ive always heard that 28-32 was a good number for daily driving but in this case thats just not possible without making the port rather small and increasing the chances of port noise. Can ya help me out. All I have to work with from the front to the back of the box between the subs is 12 inches and .75 with the thickness of the wood. Please help me out here.

No that it's any help for 80 cutlass. But I agree with MikeGray. I have a box for my DD 9512 ported and tuned to 28-29hz coming shortly. LoneRanger is the man. Buy his box.

Well its too late. I just went ahead and puched some numbers into WINISD and hopefully got something around 32-33 hz. I dont really have a clue, all I know is its built and I aint worrying about it anymore.
