15" MTX RFL enclosure

OK< my system consist of 1 15" MTX RFL sub, 2 JBL 1200.1 amps. I can ether shoose from a ported enclosure or bandpass enclosure. I think I am going to go bandpass, because it will have less ratteling on my car from what I am told. But I am open for suggestions. does anyone have 1 of thease subs and if so what kind of an enclosure. Anyone got dimentions. I can get the off the MTX site, but it can get confuing with the spanigh combined in it.

Don't go bandpass ...

I'd go ported ... 4.5 cubes or larger ... lots of port area. If you're using this daily, have fun.

Daily....no way.

I know a kid that had one in his eclipse. Tried using it for daily music, went through 2 of them, including the recone you get with it. So, technically he went through 4 of them.

All I am telling you is that you are going to blow the sub...I will put money on it. It was not meant to be used for daily driving at all..has no coil control whatsoever and you're gonna destroy that coil...it's gonna happen.

I was not going to say anything as snova031 had this covered. I just got done building a box for my friends rfl, for my friends blazer. I built the box 5.5 cubes before displacement I glued two sheets of 1/2" mdf together to get 1" mdf, vent is 11x10x9.75. I got this from mtx site He has 2,000 watts on the sub.
I will say he has blown the sub already with just the 2,000 watts but yes you get one repair kit for free. There is no way that this sub can be used for daily driving. He has now ask me to make a new box for two of these subs. But he also wants to just use that for sound offs . he wants and needs to build another box with different subs for his daily driving.
I know if he were on this forum he would say dont do it to your daily driver, He would say this is not a daily driver at all. He would say for comps only.

And just what is it anyway that makes people like you want to install an RFL in a daily driver setup? That's like putting racing slicks on your car when you know you will be driving in the rain. Use them for their purpose!
