Newbie Need Help (Los Angeles)

So recently..I went to a store to check out **** and they told me they can get me a good set up for 975$ installed..so i got all the model numbers that they suggessted and posted here and phew thank goodness i didn't go through with them because they recommended me rear fills..a POS p1 rockfosgate sub for 200..etc.

SO, car is a 98 accord ex sedan
I am getting components 6.5 in front two doors (rsd's maybe)
no rear speakers
replacing HU with kenwood kdc x693
single 12" sub alpine type r

SWR-1242D
12" Subwoofer (4Ω + 4Ω)

SWR-1222D
12" Subwoofer (2Ω + 2Ω)

what's the difference with those two? which oen do i get?
Also, i came this thread section because obviously once i buy the sub, i need things along with it..so can someone tell me what else i need other than a box?

its up to you on what R you get the only difference is wiring options

if your getting 1 you can get the 1222 and wire it down to 1 ohm, but later if you want to upgrade and add another R you gotta get a amp that is stable at .5 ohm.

or the 1242 you wire down to 2 ohms, and later if you wanna add a second you just need a amp thats stable at 1 ohm.

It also depends on if you want to get loud or you want to get good sound. The type rs are really good in about 2-2.5 cu ft box ported t around 36ish Hz. And they can also take a good bit more than 500 watts. My suggestion to you is to get the dual four ohm version and a one ohm stable amp that does 600ish watts rms at 2ohm and 1200ish at one ohm so if you ever decide you want to add another sub you already have the power available. A good amp for that would be a sundown 1200D or an RD Audio 1000.1. If you have any other questions feel free to pm me anytime. around $670 nice little profit you got going there imo and thats if your stuff is new im guessing you are a shop. op im sure there are members here willing to help you out. i wouldnt mind helping you install your stuff
