does it matter if box is over or under cubic inches

I have 2jl 8w6s iam trying to make the best box. i am putting them in a single cab 2 seater sonoma.i have the measurements for a single truck box. it will be .35 cubic inches. the subs are supposed to be at .375 would it sound better if i made box bigger.thanx for help

Maybe try a little polyfill in there, see how you like it with/without and go from there. I cut open an old pillow for mine, but it can be picked up from any store like Walmart, Canadian Tire, etc. for cheap
