Hey all, I want to make my first ported box

I've been browsing these forums for a little while, and just joined today.
I would like to build a ported box, and was wondering where to start?

I have never built a box myself yet, but I have many years experience with carpentry, metalworking, etc. All the tools in the world to build it, plenty of time, and a decent ammount of cash for materials.

I just am slightly stumped when it comes to the math lol.

I have seen a few box calculators out there, and to be honest I don't know how reliable they are.

Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated. Maybe someone can help me design one?

I'd start with choosing a sub and go from there. Do you have one in mind?

Yeah, I have a CVX15 4DVC on the way

I was reading in its instruction manual that for the most out of this sub (SPL wise anyways..) Im going to need up to a maximum of 5ft^3 + Port Displacement

And correct me if I'm wrong but, Im guessing I will want to build a box upwards of 4ft^3 but no more than 5 right?

Does that sound about right? I guess im unsure on how to make a box to fit this subs specs.
