    Port area question...

I'm about to start a new build for my 12" BTL, it's going to be 2.5 cubes, tuned to 32hz, with about 33 square inches of port...but using THIS calculator it says I need a minimum of 49 square inches of port?! How accurate is that? Do I need to do some redesigning???

Based on what ive learned here..the max you'd want for that size enclosure is 40 sq in. I think 33 is fine..around 15/cu ft..I wouldnt change it.

Yah calculators arent the best tools all the time and can be wrong. Id just go with what has been so widely used among people on here. Shouldnt let you down.

I think optimally 40 inches would be the best you could go bigger or smaller, I have always gone around 16 in^2 of port per net cubic foot of box volume...33 is a little small but would work... I would just make sure to round the edge of the port.

well I think I may be doing some redesigning...making the box a little bigger, and making the port bigger, lol. I swear I've redesigned this box like 20 times now...
