I have an ED O right now getting about 400watts in a 2ft.^3 sealed box. How different/louder would a ported box sound? Also if you have any designs for a ported box for the 12" ed O's post it.

I don't think it's meant to be ported, but I think I remember once reading that the bass is nasty but it can get pretty fukin loud if the O series is ported...

It's a weired shaped box so I'm not sure about the exact demensions I think the volume before driver displacement is around 2.1-2.2 ft^3. It would be really good if you could tell me how to just add a port to the existing box. thx

Ok I was wrong about the volume, it is 2.75ft^3. I just measured it and figured it out.
So maybe I would be better off just to build a new box, or stick something inside to take up space. That is before driver displacement.

I would personally stay sealed ... you'll loose most of your SQ by porting it ... though I guess you could tune fairly low if you wanted to. You should be able to notice an increase in SPL by switching to ported. It just won't sound very good.

do NOT, i repeat, do NOT port an O series.

they are extremely peaky when ported, and do not sound good. that is directly from the owner of ED...

my O sounds fine with 600 watts in 1.5 cubes sealed...

I agree ... you can port the O, but like Nate said, it won't sound very good.

2 cubes sealed would be sufficient.
