what to use to cut fiberglass

hey, i tried search but didn't come up with the answer i need. can i use a jig saw to cut fiberglass, or no? it may seem like a little dumb question but the reason i'm asking is because i have a jig saw, but don't have a dremel tool. if i can just use the jig, then i won't buy the dremel. thanks

You can use a jigsaw, but you have to be very careful. Make sure your cutting on something flat like a piece of wood on some sawhorses. Make sure you use a fine tooth blade as well so it doesn't end out cracking the fiberglass. Fiberglass is very fragile along the edges....so don't let the jigsaw shake the edges too much. Remember....let the blade do the cutting and don't force the blade.

It's gonna be difficult to use a jigsaw...it's gonna take a long time, and a lot of patience, and even then, it may not turn out the way you like. A dremel makes it about 1000 times easier.
