Building box for a 1800WRMS system

I am helping my freind build a box for a 15" XXX sub, running 1800W RMS at 2ohms, i was wondering how dense of wood do we need for that much power? We were thinkin medium density fiber board, but not sure. Also, would lining the inside of the box with e-dead v.2 do anything good for it?

very good choice on the sub. MDF is the best material to use. For this much power i would reccomend 1" or thicker. 3/4 is the usual but for best performance and least flexing thicker is better. matting the inside will add mass to the box and do some good but if the thicker wood is cheaper that is what i would go with.

if you cant get 1.5" MDF, just double up on the 3/4". thats what we did for my friends brahma 15. we just built a box on top of a box...NO flex, i can guarantee you that.

3/4" and a few threaded rods will take care of any flexing
