    Icon14 Triple sub enclosure

Hey Guyz,I am currently running a pair of tenz in a ported box and I would like to try a triple sub enclosure for three tenz.(Pioneer).
What is the best design? Individual compartments or open?
Would also like it 2 be ported.
Also if compartments are individual how should they be powered? seperate or can a mono block work?

Well..there are lot of ways to do it. But it depends on ur budget and what ur looking for outpu wise. SQ or SQL or SPL....

I say budget cause a custom box is probably gonna be required

    Re: Triple sub enclosure

power them with 1 amp, seperate chambers on the box will give alittle better results, but you can put them all in a common chamber if you want to.

you looking to just get louder or what?

    Re: Triple sub enclosure

    Thanx 4 da reply guyz.
Jus Lookin 2 get a little bit louder plus i wanna stick with the theme of tha car.
Its a Nissan Cube and i thought three subs would be pretty cool.
Dont gotta be nuttin fancy, jus a basic ported design.
The pair of pioneer 10z sound pretty good but i can do with a little louder.

    Re: Triple sub enclosure

Keep in mind, if you're using 1 amp, adding another subwoofer will change the load that the amplifier sees. What kind of voice coil(s) do your subs have. The way they are, you may not be able to add a third in parallel; it could drop the impedance too low for the subwoofers.

As far as the box goes, making a common chamber would be much easier than trying to make separate ported chambers for each.

Lets use "S" instead of "Z"?

I'd get a monoblock and definitely a custom box.

Yeah, if you've got a mono amp that's stable down to 1 ohm, and the subs are 4 ohms each, or dual 2 voicecoil, you can wire them to 4 and then run each sub in parallel for 1.33ohm load which would run great. Please post what kind of amp you've got and the number and impedance of your subs/voice coils.

Right now I using one soundstream lil wonder III 620 watt. the subs are pioneer dual coil(dual 2 ohms). My intention is to add another dual 2 ohm sub and buy a new amp for the bass arrangement and use my present lil wonder for mids and high.
