Question about sub/port direction

Not sure how well I stated the title

My AQ now is forward firing, and the ports fire up.

For the 2 18"s, I have enough depth to fire both subs up because I took the backseat out. Would I have an advantage to fire subs and port up if I am able to? The roof will have 2 layers of Damplifier pro

Not sure the exact terms, but it seems to me that it will reflect the sound off of the roof (loading?).

That would be somewhat difficult to do, I really just want to keep it between those 2 options. With the space I have, the box is going to have to be as wide as possible, therefore the port will really have no room.

ill give u my input idk if it will help but i sold a dd 9515 with sub up and port up and on 1200rms it was pretty crazy to the ear...but it also makes the roof flex bad but im assuming the dampering would help
