What if box size...

ok guys i'm trying to port my box and i found the volume of box considering the sub is in it and it's only 1.41 cu.ft
it's a kicker comp vr 12 and on their specifications the smallest box recomended to port is 1.75.....
can i still port it?

lol ok the nub answered one of his own questions
lol it was a mathematical mistake, my box has 1.72 cu.ft
needs 1.75 so i'll assume that's ok, now on to vents/ports, it says i need a 2.5 x 12.5 x 20
that's for a vent i assume... so how would i know what ports....
and how do u decide on frequency? music tastes..... I mostly listen to rock and alternative (like linkin park, chevelle and stuff)

yea box is 13" high, 14.5" deep, and 22" wide
i purchased this i didn't build it and it appears to be 5/8 mdf (is there 5/8's, i should prolly measure to make sure it's not 3/4")
and sub will take up 122.1" inside.

and i was thinking about using 2 2.5" ports. What would be the likely hood of not having port noise, would 2 2" be ok so the ports wouldn't have to be as deep.

wow thanks jmac, that port would be for 38.183 hz....
don't i need a lower frequency then that or would that be a good recomendation for my type of music,

those aeroports are supposed to not have as much port noise right?
would that be the only difference between using these and say PVC pipe?

ok thanks man, i was just wondering cause i see everyone else always does in the 20's but prolly 90% of people who have subs listen to hip hop R&B n Rap n stuff. So I was just wondering, thanks a lot man, you really helped a no0b out.

ok hopefully final question, when adding the port to the box would it be best to do out of one side sense box is only 13" tall and tube will be slightly over 10"
and where should i position tube. Thanks

i put possible port holes in blue.
I have an extended cab tacoma so really those are only 2 walls that will not be blocked by cab because it's behind my seat.

wow thanks man, this is a lot of work.... HA and I laugh at people who just throw boxes and subs together and say it sounds good, i'm sure if they knew all the work they'd laugh at me lol

Last question i hope, does it matter where at on the side i put the port? or doesn't matter just as long as it isn't right next to wall or driver?

right just put her somewhere out in the middle of the box. u just need the open end of the port inside the box with in 4 inches of the wall. make sense. 4 inch diameter port means the end can't be within 4 inches of the wall. thats my rule.
