    Is this a good idea

I have a problem with my trunk rattle, its not the lid its a piece of sheet metal below the lid, theres nothing on it (lights, or otherwise).

one of my friends suggested using a filling foam, since that would make the metal unable to rattle. he said rockford fosgate made a sound isulating foam...but i think hes full of crap

would this even work, and if it would where could i get some foam?

Expanding foam will work, so will sound deadener.

Only problem with expanding foam is sometimes it will squeek, at least in a friends car.

    And your buddy is correct

Yeah...expanding foam. If your local shop carries Rockford Fosgate they should have it in stock. It is pretty much the same stuff that is at Home Depot.

You can also get the cascade version of the spray on deadening from parts express. It's a pretty good product. When I use spray it's what I tend to use.

Also if you have any openings in the panel that is buzzing. You could always cram some foam rubber in. It will alleviate buzzes and rattling quite well also.
