Design for my AQhdc3 18"

I just bought the sub/amp
Let me know what you think...Im most likely going with this design tuned to 35hz
But Ive heard I should go with a box tuned to 38+hz
So Im not sure...

I know its made to but in enclosures tuend to 38-40hz but hows 35hz?

Why are you so set on 35 hz? AQ probably recommends 40 hz tuning for a reason, they did build the subs after all.

Other then that, the design looks good.

I've run the 15's with both tunings and currently am at 38Hz. When the subs were new 38Hz was a little boomy on the music I listen to, so I dropped it to 35Hz. Now that the surrounds have loosened up I went back to 38Hz and can't tell a diff in SQ.

On the box I'd double baffle the top and add a brace of some kind in the middle of the rear wall...

Got this from chris IonSQL he email DJ and he responded with this "Chris the 18 does great in 5.5-6.0 net tuned at 38hz. The sub needs 16 sq"'s of port area per net cubic foot of net volume. Port length is 20" for 38 hz when using 16sq"'s of port area per net cubic foot of box volume. For a little more SPL shorten port to 16" for 40 hz tuning."

i think the sub will get insanely loud/low tuned to 35hz but i might be wrong...
