    Help does this sound right?

I'm trying to make my sealed box into a ported box. I've been searching around for a while and I keep getting the same numbers. I'm trying to figure out how big the port has to be. The box is for 2 12" L7's and it's 34"x30"x14.5". I was going to just make a slot port but I was using the box for 3 L7s and one of them blew. So now I have a hole where the blown sub was and I want to put a port there. So basically what I'm saying is every program I've used said that the port should be 6" wide by 6" high by 6.80" long. I don't think this sounds right so I wanted your opinions. Thanks.

your going to need to remove the baffle because you wont need 144 sq in of port for 2 12's.

what do you want the tuning freq to be?

I wanted to tune it to 35 Hz. and I was going to make a semi removable port so that I wouldnt have to seal up the sub hole and then cut another hole in the box. Does that sound like a good idea? or should I just add another baffle on top of the original one and cut new holes for the subs and port?

it would be easier and more cost-efficient to simply remove the entire baffle, trace the size of it, and cut a new one. from there, you could determine your port and sub placement and tune your port accordingly.

Thanks I really appreciate the help. Do you think that the port dimensions sound right?

kicker recommends 13.5x3 @ 14.5 long. download winisd and use the sticky from the wiring section to figure out the demensions of the port.
