Hi I'm going to install a sealed subwoofer, so my box is fully carpeted, but shouldn't it be air tight so should I remove the carpet where the subwoofer touches it so it seals well?

no its fine
get a old bike tube and cut it to a strip. then put the strip on top of the carpet and then screw it down real good. thats what i do and they have bin ok.
a good way to test it, is fill the box with water, then mount the woofer and see if the water leaks out where the woofer meets the carpet , if it doesnt, take the woofer back out , drain the water, and remount the woofer with no worries![]()

Make sure it's pool water, too.
lol awesome advice. I think I like the bike tubing method the best as it seems i'm allergic to water now haha.
My subs came with some weather strip stuff to seal around them. you could use that.
