Unless you have a really nice, really big set of clamps, you use brad nails with a nail gun, if not, course thread wood screws it is.

I have never heard of any one using a hammer and nails to make a box...

You should start a new trend then with wood screws or brad nails . If you use regular nails that box will fall apart.
