Ok what does it really mean when it is said that a vented box is tuned to a certain frequency? Also is it true that a sealed enclosure yeilds better SQ and a vented gives more SPL? and is it possible to have both in a vented or sealed set-up?

ill do my best to help you out...with my limited knowledge of ported boxes. the tuning of the box has something to do with the peak (loudest) frequency. the higher its tuned to...the louder it gets (in dBs) at its designated frequency. the trade off is that the lower its tuned to, the more SQ it has...but it also wont be as loud. i think it might also have something to do with the box size....Jmac would know better than i would about that.. and it is correct that if built correctly, sealed enclosures yeild better SQ and a vented gives more SPL.Originally posted by Mindspin311

pretty much i was poor at the time and was in the market for my first subs. After researching they were actually the best for the price. IMO. However it is time for me to upgrade. I am placing my order for a single e15A.22
Now i just need an amp that is stable to one ohm and 1000W
my power acoustik is 1000 @ 2 ohms.

yea, i would def get new subs but i need to save up for college next year...and i cant have a car as a freshman...but next summer....ill def invest in a nice pair of woofers.

I dont remember the specifics of the rumor. Basically some HS kid figured out K was the 11th letter and 3 11's were 3 K's= KKK. Then schools started banning 311 t-shirts and all that.
