NEED help with a box

OK, I have a 15"XXX and i would like to build meself a box. Lookin for around 6cu ft. ported and i will be sending about 1500rms to it.

Can anyone tell me how to tune it to a certain frequency and what not..
i was lookin at something around 1.5ft(deep)x1.6ft(tall)x2.5ft(width)

any ideas? i was gunna put the port on the right side too..will that made a difference?

What are you looking for out of it? Anywhere from 28-40 would be ok for daily...

i want about 65% spl and 35%sq...basically...i was thinking about 35 hz...but i dunno

you can do a switchable port...but if you don't plan on competing, it's really pointless.


35 Hz would be pretty good for that ratio...

i am planning on doing some local competitions at like Future shop and A&B sound...which are kinda like best buy and stuff like that....nothin big because i just don't have what it takes...i was thinkin 36hz but 35 is pertty close...


if u go higher do that mean sq gets better?

ok well now i am thinking about 5cuft tuned to 34....is that ok? or not really that loud?

How far off of the back of the box should a slot port be??? is 3 inches from the back of the box from the end of the slot port enough??

My box is 14.75 inches deep (including .75 thickness of front board, not back). So I can either go 1.5"x 14.6" x 12" tuned to 35hz (leaving 2.75 inches from back). Or I can go 1.75" x 14.6" 13" tuned to 35 hz (leaving 1.75 inces from the back). Which should I choose? Should I go with 1.75 width and just tune it higher to make the port shorter??
