significance of enclosed air space in sealed boxes

im just wondering what the difference is if say.... ok i have an r type 12 and the recommended size is .7 to 1.0 ft^3...... if the box is .7 how will that sound differ from a box that has 1.0 and... what if i went over the max recommended size to 1.35ft^3?

0.3 cubic feet is not a huge increase, the difference would be minimal. If that difference were bigger you would getting a deeper response out the bigger box and a punchier response out of the small one

well im building a box for 3 12s and i thought just for the **** of it id make 2 of the subs have around .7ft^3 and the center one have like 1.3 or sumthing i just wanted to make sure that too much space (1.35) wouldnt damage the subs.... should i go with all of them being 1.35 or would that take away too much of the punch?

jennings is a small town right off I-10 pretty much directly between lafayette and lake charles/ beaumont and baton rouge.... wheres albany?

30 mins from baton Rouge. Be better for all subs to have same as possible air space.

yeh, i wouldnt mix up the airspace like that... just not good.
