    edK and amp help

alright guys. SOUNDSUNLIMITIED I believe is his name is selling me a 15 k. Now I have a few questions. does anyone have the box recomindations for this sub. how about the depth of the sub.

the second question being what amp would be the best fit for this sub. I might possible be buying his second sub from him as well so what amp options would fit this bill.

i can't wait. I am so pumped to hear this bad boy. any help apreciated.

Congats on your choice of subs!

Sealed - around 3.0 cu ft. is what Elemental Designs reccomends.
Ported - around 3.0 cu ft. is a good start. Tuned around 30Hz

It depends on what your looking for? SPL? SQ?

I have used an e15k in a 2.0 cu ft. box and it sounded nice.
I recently put one in a 3.5cu ft. slot ported box and it is A LOT
louder than my older sealed box. It still sounds good too.

I'm only pushing the e15k with 300w. With around 500-600w it
would really SLAM! ED reccomends 400w RMS

    Depth for e15k is 7.2"

If you have the room, go ported. You'll get a lot more output from
    your the sub.

It's not what you have to do, it's just the size box reccomended for good SQ.

My 2.0cu ft box sounded pretty good. Just needed more power!

Between 2.0 - 3.0 cu ft will sound good. SEALED

ive got that same sub in a 2.5 cuft enclosure and i couldn't ask for more very nice sq and good enough spl for me, if ur lookin for more spl id definitly look into ported though. as far as amps go im runnin mine with a soundstream rubicon 500, puttin bout 500 watts to it, and it seems to like it so id rec. anything around 500 watts. how soon and how sure are you about gettin that sub? if your not gettin it for a while then id rec. a smaller mono amp but if not go either higher mono or two channel.

Im in the same boat as dakota. My 15K is also on its way. To be more specific...

    1) If I do sealed, would 2.5cu ft be good before displacement (.085)
    2) Does the size of the box effect as loud it is? I dont have enough room for ported...
    3) So what size sealed would give me the most SPL?
    4) Im thinkin of the USX600D, JBL300.1, Profile 600M, any others under 150ish?

their top of the line series is the A series. The k is a great SQL sub, and the O is geared more towards SQ and sealed boxes. peace

    NG

p.s. I have a 2 12k's w/ 2.5 cubes(after all displacement) each ported...and they sound great...i agree, if u can muster up about 3 cubes and port it, for the 15's that wold be great. peace
