Man I was in your exact shoes about a month ago... I have 2 type r 12".... I am VERY impressed with my setup, and box choice. I built it 2.2cuft per sub tuned to 36hz... you can go to http://www.reaudio.com/speaker_box/LPort_Box_Calc.html to mess with dimensions.... hope that helps some..

A 3.3911 cubic foot box tuned to 28-32Hz (at least that's what I would prefer), and the RE Box calculator is inaccurate. I just got done making calculations for designing a box for a 12" type R so that's how I know about the box size.

Yeah, no. Make that box a cubic foot smaller and you're money. Anything over 2.75 cubes for a 12" type r is almost always too large.

    Yeah, you're absolutely right lol.

I tried using BCAE1 again and the box volume came out completely different than it did yesterday.

    Here is what you need.

Yesterday, someone told me that they had a box that was 2.7 cubes tuned to 28Hz and they said they were unhappy with it and came to me asking for help to make it sound better and I guess I must have hit a wrong button when using the calculator.
