i am in the process of my painting my enclosure right now. i just picked up a quart of semi gloss black rust-oleum and it looks awesome so far. tomorrow im putting on my fifth coat and hopefully the last.
btw i have no painting experience
so what all do I need?
and is there a paint which can help protect the enclosure against moisture?

im a professional painter for work and am going to be painting mine as well. i'm going to use some oil-based spray primer called cover stain, then a base of oil based exterior paint called iron-clad, (benjamin moore product) ten a can spray crackle finish... if it was me, i would prime first with a good oil primer spray, then some decent quality regular spray paint, just to make sure it sticks really well... i'll be using an airless sprayer for mine though, you might not have one, so spray paint should work just fine...
I dont want a good looking box, a decent finish with a paint that helps protect against moisture/water. Moisture protection is a necessity.

thats exactly why i painted my box. actually i put a coat of sand n sealer then polycrylic on the inside and outside and then 5 coats of paint that i brushed on with a foam brush on the outside. works great. covered up all my seams and pretty easy
So I went with your advice(all who provided)...and gave it 2 coats of primer and 1 coat of spray paint, waiting to give it a second soon....looks good....![]()
